FAQ

What is it like to attend an event ?

Imagine a delightful gathering reminiscent of a casual picnic or potluck among friends, all accompanied by a heartfelt prayer for our community. Our event thrives on an open and relaxed structure, with flexible starting and ending times, ensuring ample opportunity for everyone to savor their meals and engage in the warm camaraderie of the occasion. While the church does not furnish food or beverages, we offer the venue for this gathering and a barbecue station for grilling delectable treats for yourself, your family, or your companions.

Although sharing is warmly encouraged, it's entirely voluntary. If you opt to contribute to our communal feast, we kindly request that you provide ingredient information to accommodate dietary preferences and sensitivities. This can be easily achieved by bringing store-bought items, making this shared experience enjoyable and accessible to all.

Are you inclusive?

Our commitment to radical inclusivity propels us to embrace unconditional love for all. At our table, there is always a place for everyone, without exception.

We extend a warm welcome to individuals of all faiths, including those with non-religious beliefs, and we embrace people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. Superficiality holds no sway here; we invite you to come exactly as you are.

Are you Christian?

We view ourselves as akin to the early Christians who championed the principles of friendship, equality, and the paramount importance of kindness and compassion towards one another, as eloquently articulated in Ephesians 4:32. Rather than fixating on rigid dogmas, our focus aligns with the initial growth of the Christian faith—a nonviolent spiritual movement founded on countercultural values.

In the spirit of establishing a nurturing community, we wholeheartedly embrace the profound wisdom of Galatians 6:2: "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Our narrative intertwines with that of Jesus, bound together by the threads of prayer, hope, love, and the power of community.

How do you pray?

We embrace all prayers both felt and spoken in all languages and traditions.  There is no right way to long for peace, for love and for community.

Franciscan friar Richard Rohr taught that "Prayer is not primarily saying words or thinking thoughts. It is, rather, a life stance. It’s a way of living in the Presence, living in awareness of the Presence, and even of enjoying the Presence."

Do you accept donations?

Not at the moment, but we may ask for donations in the future to help set up new events in new locations. In the meantime, we highly recommend giving your donations to a charitable organization like UNICEF or Feeding America
